The Directorate of Water Resources in Latakia continues to implement and monitor the irrigation programme within the Mashqita Dam system. In this context, the directorate carried out irrigation work through the main canal (MC1) and the Bassa Canal, delivering water to several agricultural areas in the Latakia countryside, including Ras al-Ahmar, al-Damat, Jebrayoun, al-Qabarsiyeh, Rouaysa al-Harsh, Sukhayris, al-Khallala and al-Shir, helping to support agricultural activity and improve irrigation efficiency.

In the main canal at Kisrat Surur, an earth dam was built, the old lining was removed and the site was excavated in preparation for rehabilitation works. Works to lift and reinstall the sluices and culverts and replace the gaskets were also carried out in 2East Canal at Abu Kabrah and Wadi Al-Sharawna, in addition to reinstalling the washed-away industrial work and building an earth barrier to protect the irrigated lands.
