Water resources use the 'phenates' method to determine ammonia concentration with lab-prepared reagents

The water quality monitoring team at the Tartus Water Resources Directorate uses the 'Phenate' method to measure ammonia ion concentrations in general water samples, using lab-prepared reagents, which allows for cheaper and more reliable testing compared to using ready-made reagents.

To boost digital transformation and improve irrigation management, the Water Resources Directorate in Latakia set up a system to manage irrigation in government irrigation projects.

This system is considered a decision support system as it provides the management with daily information about the irrigation status across different irrigation sectors, both spatially and in tables, relying on Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and database systems. Using it, the management can visually track the irrigation status and water coverage percentage for each sector within an irrigation set in the project across the governorate, which is considered a step toward digital transformation and modern management of government irrigation networks.
