Works of the Water Resources Directorate in Deir Ezzor Governorate

The Al-Bawakir workshop, affiliated with the Water Resources Directorate in Deir ez-Zor, carried out trench dredging works in Sector Eight within the town of Granij, as part of efforts to address the damage caused by the heavy rainfall recently experienced in the area.

The large amounts of rain led to the formation of swamps and rising water levels in agricultural lands, threatening crops with damage and increasing the risk of soil salinisation, negatively affecting agricultural production.

These works came in response to the farmers' appeal, with the directorate quickly intervening to save their crops, in addition to ensuring the protection of public health for the local residents from the dangers of diseases resulting from the proliferation of harmful insects in stagnant water.

These efforts come under the difficult conditions the region has suffered over the past fourteen years, and with the restoration of stability recently, the relevant authorities are working to rehabilitate infrastructure and improve service and agricultural conditions to benefit the local residents and enhance their stability.
