Within the framework of strengthening joint cooperation between the Syrian government – ​​Ministry of Energy – General Authority for Water Resources and the FAO: Supporting irrigation projects and pumping stations

The Deir ez-Zor Water Resources Directorate discussed with the FAO priorities for supporting irrigation projects and pumping stations, aiming to rehabilitate agricultural infrastructure and support the stability of residents in the eastern countryside.

The field visit included the Director of Water Resources in Deir ez-Zor and the Director of Technical Affairs at the Directorate, accompanied by several technical staff members from the Directorate, along with FAO technical staff. The purpose of the visit was to assess the status of the sixth sector project in the eastern countryside, which was recently liberated. This sector includes the villages of Al-Zar, Al-Shuhail, Dhiban, Hawaj Dhiban, Al-Tayyana, and Shanan, and serves 11,300 hectares of agricultural land.
