Water Resources Directorate in Tartous Governorate
Tartus Governorate is located in western Syria and overlooks the Mediterranean Sea, and it is considered one of the most important coastal governorates. Its area is about 1,892 km², and it is characterized by a moderate climate, green nature, mountains, and fertile coastal plains.
The governorate is famous for agriculture, especially citrus fruits, olives, vegetables, and protected crops. It is also considered an important area for fish wealth and maritime activity. It includes the city of Tartus and its commercial port, in addition to the historic Arwad Island, and it is home to archaeological and tourist sites.
