The Tartous Water Resources Directorate has completed the desilting of 3 kilometers of drainage channels in the Akkar Plain to improve water drainage and reduce the risk of water accumulation and flooding of agricultural land during the rainy season.
The works included desilting 1.5 kilometers of the MJD6-2 drainage channel, which passes through the areas of Al-Hawza, Beit Shoufan, and Samrian, as well as 1.5 kilometers of the MD6 drainage channel.
The Directorate continues to desilt drainage channels and waterways as part of its preparations for the winter season, aiming to prevent blockages and ensure the smooth flow of water.
