Water Resources Directorate in Raqqa Carries out a series of field maintenance works
Main Executed Works:
High Lift Canal:
Excavation of cavities and removal of cracked concrete and saturated soil (70 m³), along with backfilling, bedding, and tamping (90 m³).
Modified Canal – Hattin:
Treatment of 3 cavities (excavation 40 m³ and backfilling 60 m³ with tamping), in addition to reinforcing the right shoulder (40 m³).
Al-Balikh Canal / Burashad Slope:
Pouring 18 m³ of 300-grade concrete and filling the joints with bitumen.
Second Section (Hashm Well):
Lifting flow meters of different diameters in several canals (MT27, ME, ML, MG22, MK22) to improve flow and drainage.
Desilting Works:
A number of canals and drains were desilted, most notably:
NR2 in Hattin (850 m),
Al-Husaywah (500 m), South – Yarmouk (700 m),
and BD1_4 Drain (150 m).
The Directorate of Water Resources in Raqqa confirms the continued implementation of its service and technical plans despite the challenges, aiming to ensure the sustainability of water resources and improve the efficiency of the irrigation system. It also calls on fellow farmers to cooperate by maintaining water facilities and infrastructure, contributing to supporting agricultural production and making the best use of available resources.
