The Water Resources Directorate in Raqqa is following up on maintenance, dredging, and sinkhole treatment in several places.
The teams of the Raqqa Water Resources Directorate continue maintenance and rehabilitation work at several irrigation and drainage network sites. The work included:
- Sector One: Fixing a collapse in the Saleh Canal at Hattin Farm by digging and dredging 50 m³ and backfilling 70 m³ of soil with bedding and tamping. The speed box of regulator 14 in Aldananiya was also removed due to a malfunction.
- Sector Two: Fixing collapses in Canal 17 at Al-Rajm Al-Abyad by digging 40 m³ and backfilling 50 m³, and opening a culvert on MBD26 Drain.
- Sector Four: Clearing Ali Bayram Drain in Al-Karama for 250 m and carrying out maintenance on the tenth regulator in Abu Wahil, installing a new speed box, and closing one of the intake gates of the main Balikh Canal using the MAN crane.
- Sector Five: Clearing a main drain in Al-Dalha for 150 m.
These works are part of ongoing efforts to keep irrigation and drainage networks and water facilities ready and to serve agricultural lands.
