The Water Resources Directorate in Raqqa continued its field work in the irrigation and drainage sectors, aiming to fix faults and leaks and improve the efficiency of the water network.
The work included:
Sector One: Following up on fixing the break in the left-bank channel at Khayala by moving, filling, bedding, and compacting about 60 m³ of soil, and removing the earthen dam. Machinery also started fixing a subsidence on the Marj Al-Khadhra – Al-Salhabiya West road, along with dredging 300 m of Fadhal drain of US7 channel in Adnaniya, and dredging 1800 m of Wadi Al-Fayd channel between regulators 16 and 18.
Sector Two: Doing maintenance and installation work on WEST 26 channel, including taking apart and installing flumes and sills, fixing columns, and cleaning the structures from silt and mud, plus dredging 800 m of Ansar intake channel in Al-Rafqa and 250 m of a secondary drain in Al-Jalaa.
Section Three: Fixing a collapse on the Balikh Canal at the Shenina site and filling it with about 250 m³ of soil, including bedding and compacting in layers, while keeping the canal in operation.
Section Four: Fixing collapses and supporting low areas on the shoulder of Canal 42 in Jdaydat with about 120 m³ of soil, and dredging 300 m of the Volcano Canal.
Section Five: Dredging the Bouhamad station basin and the canal for a length of 1700 m.
Deir Ezzor: Continuing dredging and excavation of main drains using a long-arm backhoe, with 200 m on the lower map and 200 m in the Al-Hawayej area.
These works are part of the directorate's ongoing plan to keep irrigation and drainage networks ready, repair damage and collapses, and ensure continuous water supply for irrigation and agricultural land service.
