The Water Resources Directorate in Raqqa carries out periodic maintenance and rehabilitation works within irrigation projects.

Sector 2 embankment (post-pumping groove): The technical teams carried out excavation and removal of cracked concrete and scraping of moisture-saturated soil totaling 70 m³, in addition to backfilling work with 60 m³ of soil, along with bedding and compaction in layers according to approved technical specifications. 
 
Channel 30MG in Marouda also witnessed maintenance work on the sluice gates, including disassembly, installation, reinstallation, and replacement of damaged gaskets at multiple sites, as well as cleaning one of the industrial structures using a JCB machine.
 
In the gates workshop, a new worm gearbox was installed with a chrome and manual slope in the decadal regulator at Abu Wahal village, and the intake gate of the Volcano channel was repaired by transferring and installing the manual gear to ensure optimal control of water quantities entering the channel.
 
On the other hand, de-silting work was carried out for MC8 channel in Khatouniya over a length of 1000 meters, and for AS5 and AS6 channels over 900 meters, contributing to improved water flow and enhancing the efficiency of the irrigation network.
 
The water control authority also continued its field patrols on channels and water structures to monitor water conditions, control violations and encroachments, and take necessary measures to maintain the safety of the irrigation network and ensure fair water distribution.
 
The Water Police also continued their field tours of canals and water facilities to monitor the water situation, control violations and encroachments, and take the necessary measures to maintain the safety of the irrigation network, ensure the fair distribution of water, and sustain the service for beneficiaries.
