The Water Resources Directorate in Latakia tightens its measures to control violations and protect irrigation networks
As part of the ongoing field follow-up to monitor irrigation networks and protect the rights of beneficiaries, the Directorate of Water Resources in Latakia continues its work on the ground to address violations and encroachments and ensure proper water distribution.
In the Zaghrin area, the technical teams managed to deal with five illegal irrigation openings on the main line. The violations were removed, standard valves were installed, and the violators were required to use the valves properly and install the necessary taps, ensuring controlled water withdrawal and preventing network abuse.
The MP1-6-4 line in the Serskaya area also saw three violations removed, followed by welding and installation work needed to restore the line to its standard condition, with participation from the metal welding workshop and group workers.
These efforts show that the directorate continues to take a firm approach to violations and encroachments on the irrigation networks and strengthen field monitoring, keeping the network efficient and ensuring that irrigation water reaches those entitled to it properly.
