The Water Resources Directorate in Latakia strengthens its partnership with farmers and steps up field monitoring of water resources.
The Directorate of Water Resources in Latakia continues its field work to enhance integrated water resource management. A meeting was held with farmers in the village of Al-Knissat to form a water users' association, attended by the village head, the head of the farmers' association, and the head of the guidance unit. This aims to organize irrigation water use and boost farmers' participation in managing water resources.
As part of field monitoring of the water resources situation, the Water Resources Information Center conducted a water measurement tour covering several points along the wells of Maamal Ma'akes, Al-Shir, Stakheers, Rawisat Al-Harsh, Badmiyoun, Al-Azriya, and Al-Qash River. The goal was to assess water conditions and update the necessary data to support management and monitoring operations.
The directorate continues to strengthen its field presence and cooperation with farmers to ensure more efficient and sustainable water resource management.
