The Water Resources Directorate in Latakia is strengthening its partnership with farmers and stepping up field monitoring of water resources.
The Directorate of Water Resources in Latakia continues its field work to enhance integrated water resources management. A meeting was held with farmers in the village of Al-Knissat to form a Water Users Association, attended by the village head, the head of the agricultural association, and the head of the guidance unit. This aims to organize the use of irrigation water and boost farmers' participation in managing water resources.
As part of field monitoring of the water resources situation, the Water Resources Information Center carried out a water measurement tour across several points along the axis of the Ma’amel Al-Ma’akes, Al-Shir, Stakhirs, Rawisat Al-Harsh, Badmiyon, Al-Azriya, and Al-Qash River, aiming to observe the water situation and update the necessary data to support management and follow-up operations.
The Directorate continues to intensify its field presence and strengthen cooperation with farmers, ensuring more efficient and sustainable management of water resources.
