The Water Resources Directorate in Latakia is monitoring the state of irrigation and boosting the continuity of pumping in the northern plain
The Directorate of Water Resources in Latakia continues its field monitoring of irrigation in the northern plain and surface dams, recording high irrigation rates in several areas: 98% in Nahr al-Arab and Burj Islam, 97% in Ras Shamra and al-Shamiya, 99% in Harafish, and 100% in al-Qanjra, Karsana, and al-Jawziya.
Irrigation also continues in Khirbet al-Jawziya, al-Jawziya, and Nahr al-Arab at 65%, with the third irrigation cycle in Nahr al-Arab and Burj Islam extended until the end of the day, and the fourth irrigation cycle starting in Khirbet al-Jawziya for five days.
At the same time, the pumping stations of the second phase of Mashqita Dam continue working to provide irrigation water, with the Al-‘Alimiya station operating at full capacity, Nahr al-Arab with two pumps, along with the Karsana, al-Shamiya, al-Qanjra, al-Banda, and Salma Mill stations. Meanwhile, the al-Mughrayt station operates with three pumps according to the available water flow.
The directorate’s teams continue field monitoring, organizing irrigation cycles, running the stations, and handling any emergencies.
