The Water Resources Directorate in Latakia is following up on the state of irrigation and maintenance work at the Tarjano Dam system.
The Water Resources Directorate in Latakia continues to monitor the irrigation situation in the Beit Suhein area, as part of its ongoing efforts to ensure regular irrigation and supply water to the agricultural lands benefiting from the Tarjano Dam system.
In the first group of the Tarjano Dam, the balance reservoir of the PS1 pumping station in Difa is one of the main components of the system, serving an agricultural area of about 2,200 hectares. Water is pumped into it using two pumps, helping to secure water supply and maintain stable irrigation operations within the network.
Alongside operation and monitoring activities, the directorate’s staff continue to carry out maintenance and repair work. They have dug and fixed an AC-type fault with a diameter of 200 mm in the Al-Dibiqah – Tarjano area, helping to keep the network ready and ensure continuous use of irrigation water.
The directorate emphasizes that it continues field monitoring of irrigation, maintenance, and operations to improve the efficiency of the irrigation system and ensure that water reaches the agricultural lands benefiting within the available water resources.
