The Water Resources Directorate in Latakia is following up on the implementation of the irrigation plan and raising the completion rates in irrigation projects.

The Water Resources Directorate in Latakia continues to implement the irrigation plan and monitor the condition of networks and pumping stations in various agricultural projects. Irrigation has been carried out in several areas with high completion rates, with irrigation rates exceeding 90% in several sectors, including Al-Qanjrah, Baksa, Jebro, Al-Shamiya, Karsana, Barna, Harfoush, and Kharbet Al-Jawziya, while completing irrigation cycles in a number of networks and continuing pumping in other sectors according to the approved schedule.

Some projects have also started implementing new irrigation cycles, alongside maintenance teams following up on technical faults in some main and branch lines and addressing them immediately to ensure stable water supply and that farmers are not affected.

The directorate confirmed that field monitoring work continues around the clock, in coordination with technical staff, to ensure proper water management and fair distribution.
