The Water Resources Directorate in Latakia is following up on maintenance work at the pumping stations of the second phase of Mashqita Dam.

The directorate continues maintenance work and boosting readiness at a group of pumping stations for the second phase of Mashqita Dam, while monitoring operations at Al-Alimiya, Karsana, Al-Shamiya, Al-Qanjara, Al-Banda, Al-Maqati, Damsarkho, Al-Shibtaliyya, and Al-Darouqiyat stations.

Following a power outage, one of the pumps broke due to its shaft being damaged. The pump and its internal parts were disassembled, and the broken shaft was removed in preparation for replacement and putting the pump back into service as quickly as possible.

Pumping was also monitored on the feed line to Al-Burj and Al-Salib stations to make use of the available water, alongside ongoing repair work on the engines of Al-Shamiya and Al-Alimiya stations.
