The Water Resources Directorate in Latakia is following up on maintenance and operation work and enhancing the readiness of water facilities in the northern plain.
The Directorate of Water Resources in Latakia continues to carry out maintenance work and technical fixes for malfunctions, and to monitor the operation of pumping stations, along with taking care of water facilities in the northern plain, as part of ongoing efforts to keep the irrigation system and its facilities ready.
The work included fixing a fault on the main network of Pumping Station PS-3-4 in Sector 14, where the gate valve, meter washer, and 300 mm gaskets were replaced after water drainage was carried out. At the same time, another fault was being dug on the 150 mm asbestos line in the main network of Al-Maghreeta Station in the same sector, as a preparation to complete repair work and return the line to service.
Also, dredging and seeding work continues on the body of Kharbat Al-Jawziya Dam, where 150 m² of dredging was completed, helping to maintain the readiness of the facility and improve its operational condition.
As part of monitoring technical work at the group of pumping stations in the second phase of Mashqita Dam, the site of the pumping station at the exit of Ain Al-Bayda Tunnel was inspected to check the placement of the pumping set, the suction line, and to determine the necessary submersible pump according to technical requirements. At the same time, the operation and pumping of the group stations were monitored to ensure consistent performance and continuous functioning of the system.
These works are part of the ongoing monitoring and maintenance program for water facilities and networks in the northern plain, addressing faults and raising the technical readiness of pumping stations and facilities under the directorate.
