The Water Resources Directorate in Latakia is clearing the Balloran River channel in preparation for the rainy season
The Directorate of Water Resources in Latakia continues its field operations to dredge rivers and streams in several areas of the governorate as part of its preparations for the rainy season, aiming to boost the readiness of water channels and improve their drainage efficiency.
In this context, dredging work continues along the Ballouran River, from the bridge to the outfall, over a distance of 75 meters, to remove accumulated sediments and obstacles, improve water flow, and enhance the channel’s drainage capacity.
These works are important for maintaining the safety of water channels and reducing the risk of rising water levels and flooding, which helps in being prepared for rainfall and protects surrounding areas from potential flooding hazards.
The Directorate of Water Resources in Latakia confirms that dredging and field monitoring of rivers and streams will continue as part of its ongoing efforts to ensure high readiness for a plentiful rainy season, God willing.
