The Water Resources Directorate in Latakia continues removing violations and maintaining irrigation networks
The Directorate of Water Resources in Latakia continues to carry out its technical and field work within the irrigation networks, as part of regulating water use, fixing malfunctions, and maintaining the readiness of water lines and facilities.
The work initially included removing eight violations, which involved creating irrigation openings without proper cutting of slabs on one of the lines in the Mukhtariya area, helping to control distribution operations and reduce abuses affecting the network's operation.
Excavation and repair work was also carried out for several faults on irrigation lines in the Dumyoun, Qabarsiya, Mukhtariya, and Bahloulia areas, including fixing leaks and welding holes in metal lines, repairing faults on asbestos and PVC lines, and backfilling repairs that had been completed.
In the Ain al-Daleb – Arab al-Malik sector, within the 3,000-hectare networks, a fault on a main GRP line was backfilled, alongside excavation and repair of three PVC-type faults in the Bahloulia area as part of the Tarjano Dam group.
These works are part of the ongoing maintenance and monitoring program for irrigation networks, aiming to improve line efficiency, address faults as quickly as possible, and ensure the continuity and stability of the irrigation system and service for the benefiting areas.
