The Water Resources Directorate in Latakia continues operating the irrigation system and is strengthening the steady supply of water to Al-Hweiz, Ruwisat Al-Hajel, and Al-Sharashir areas.

The Directorate of Water Resources in Latakia continues its follow-up and supervision of irrigation water conditions. The Hawiz Dam sluice was opened to ensure the flow of irrigation water through the main canal at level +80 and the second branch, Ruwaysa al-Hajal. Additionally, water continues to flow in the main canal at level +50 in the Sharashir area, which helps provide water supply to connected networks and serves the agricultural areas benefiting within the system.

Alongside the operation work, maintenance and rehabilitation efforts in the main canals also continued, including dredging bottlenecks in the main canal from level +50 from the sixteenth branch to the airport siphon. This aims to improve water flow and increase the canal’s efficiency in delivering irrigation water to the benefiting areas.
