The Water Resources Directorate in Latakia continues maintenance and rehabilitation work and boosts the efficiency of the irrigation system in the Jableh sector
The Directorate of Water Resources in Latakia continues to carry out maintenance work and technical repairs, alongside rehabilitating water channels and organizing operational activities within the Al-Hweiz Dam networks, as part of ongoing efforts to maintain the readiness of the water system and enhance its performance.
The work included digging and repairing a 150 mm metal fault in the Ras Al-Ain sector within the Al-Hweiz Dam networks, by addressing worn-out areas with welding, helping to restore the efficiency of the line and fix the technical issue.
Also, work continues to deepen the bottleneck areas in the main channel at the 50-meter level, extending from the Al-Sharashir area towards the PS1 pumping station, aiming to improve flow smoothness and reduce obstacles affecting the channel's performance.
In the context of organizing operational work and controlling water facilities, the main gate of the Al-Hweiz overflow on the main channel at the 50-meter level was manually calibrated by network workers, enhancing the accuracy of flow control and supporting the regular distribution of water within the system.
These works are part of the Directorate’s ongoing program for maintaining networks, channels, and water facilities, addressing faults, and boosting the operational readiness of the irrigation system.
