The Water Resources Directorate in Latakia continues maintenance and follow-up work on irrigation networks

The Directorate of Water Resources in Latakia continues its work on monitoring and maintaining irrigation networks and main canals, aiming to ensure the continuous supply of irrigation water to the areas that benefit from it and to improve network efficiency.

The work included monitoring the status of irrigation water in the main canal, inspecting the +50 level support sill of the Howeiz Dam, which is now ready to operate if needed, in addition to dredging bottlenecks in the main canal in the Abu Bra area and dredging the sides of the 19th branch in the Al-Sharashir area.

The work also involved monitoring water in the Khuraybah, Shalfatiyah, and Manjila networks, dredging the siphons within the Phase One network of the Mashqita Dam, alongside carrying out several excavation and repair tasks on the Samandil, Qabarsiyah, Al-Burj, Al-Alimiyah, and Bani Issa networks.

Maintenance work also included fixing damage to irrigation lines in Dator Al-Bahluliya, Jibrion, Fadrah, and Tarjano Dam, using specialized machinery and technical teams.

These efforts are part of the daily monitoring program for irrigation networks, to ensure their readiness and continuous operation, reduce losses and breakdowns, which in turn improves irrigation water services for farmers in the various benefiting areas.
