The Water Resources Directorate in Latakia continues its efforts to ensure the delivery of irrigation water and improve the efficiency of the networks.

The Directorate of Water Resources in Latakia continues its ongoing field follow-up on the state of irrigation water and its networks. Irrigation water has reached the 23rd branch in the Hmeimim area through the main channel at level +50, after pumping from the Al-Hwayz station towards the main channel at level +80 was stopped.

Work to address blockages is also ongoing. The entrance of the Sakhaba siphon and the intake of the irrigation network covering 3,000 hectares have been dredged, along with fixing a fault in the Safarqia Dam network in the Ain Al-Arus sector, and monitoring the irrigation water situation in the Arida area.

As part of improving the efficiency of the canals and ensuring smooth water flow, 150 meters of the main channel at level +26 in the Eidiyya area have been dredged.

The Directorate emphasizes the continuous field work and direct monitoring of the networks to address faults and blockages and ensure the best possible flow of irrigation water to agricultural areas.
