The Water Resources Directorate in Aleppo has started dredging and cleaning the open drain (14D) in the southern plains of Aleppo.

The Water Resources Directorate, in cooperation with the Southern Sam'an Area Administration and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), has started dredging and cleaning the open drain (14D) as part of the Southern Aleppo Plains project, covering a segment of 3,000 hectares and stretching up to 10 kilometers.
 
The work includes dredging and cleaning the start of the irrigation lines (PL2.1.2.21), (PL2.2.3.2), and (PL2.2.2), aiming to improve the efficiency of the drainage and irrigation network, enhance the condition of agricultural lands, and reduce the effects of blockages, ultimately supporting farmers and increasing the efficiency of land use in southern Aleppo countryside.
 
These efforts come within the framework of initiatives to support the agricultural sector, improve water infrastructure, and enhance services provided to agricultural areas.
