The Water Resources and Red Crescent are looking to boost readiness for the rainy season
The Directorate of Water Resources in Tartous discussed with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent branch ways to boost readiness for the rainy season and coordinate proactive measures to reduce the risk of floods in the governorate.
The meeting was attended by the Director of Water Resources, Engineer Mohamed Muhrez, the Disaster Management Unit representative at the Red Crescent, Engineer Vivian Hawood, and relevant officials from both sides. They reviewed the proactive measures taken by the directorate, including clearing drains and watercourses and addressing blockage points, especially in areas most prone to flooding, along with the machinery used to carry out fieldwork.
