The water police caught five unlicensed excavators in the countryside of Homs governorate
The Water Police at the Directorate of Water Resources in Homs, in cooperation with the relevant authorities, carried out intensive inspection rounds in the countryside over the past few days. This is part of the Ministry of Energy’s efforts to protect water resources and ensure compliance with water legislation. The campaign resulted in the seizure of five unlicensed excavators that were being used to dig illegal wells.
The directorate continues to officially document these excavators to take legal action according to the proper procedures, and they have been deposited in the directorate's garages. The Water Police committees continue their rounds as part of a plan aimed at curbing illegal digging to reduce the phenomenon and limit the depletion of groundwater.
