The water police at the Water Resources Directorate in Homs, in cooperation with the relevant authorities, carried out intensive inspection rounds over the past few days in the eastern countryside of Homs. This comes as part of the Ministry of Energy's efforts to protect water resources and enforce water legislation. The campaign led to the seizure of three unlicensed excavators that were being used to dig illegal wells.
Official reports were filed against the violators, and the excavators were confiscated and placed in the directorate's garages. The police committees continue their patrols as part of a plan aimed at cracking down on illegal digging, reducing unauthorized excavation, and preventing the depletion of groundwater.
