The rivers of Latakia feed the irrigation system... Fieldwork is being done to enhance the use of water resources.
As part of the efforts by the Directorate of Water Resources in Latakia to improve irrigation water conditions and enhance the efficiency of water resource management and utilization, fieldwork was carried out on the Nuaimiya River, which included building an earthen dam to divert river water toward the main canal at elevation +26, allowing it to be used for irrigation purposes.
Similar work was also carried out on the Ain Al-Widiya Al-Hweiz River in the Wata Al-Hweiz area, which involved constructing an earthen dam to divert river water to the main canal at elevation +26, aiming to feed the canal with additional water and increase the amount available for irrigation.
These efforts are part of ongoing work to maximize the benefits of available water resources, improve irrigation system efficiency, and enhance irrigation conditions.
