The Raqqa Water Resources Directorate continues maintenance and rehabilitation work within irrigation projects.

At the main channel in Khasrat Sarour, an earthen dam was built, the old lining was removed, and the site was excavated in preparation for rehabilitation works. Works to lift and re-install the sills and flumes and replace the seals were also carried out in 2East Abu Kabra and Wadi Al-Sharawna, in addition to re-installing the washed-away industrial work and building an earthen barrier to protect irrigated lands.

The gates workshop also continued maintenance, repair and cleaning of several structures and intakes to ensure they are operational, while the water authority continued removing violations and encroachments on channels and water facilities to keep water flowing smoothly and ensure fair distribution to farmers.

The works continue according to approved plans to improve the efficiency of irrigation networks and serve the agricultural sector.
