The work included dredging the main canal at a +11 level in the Arab Al-Malik area in stages, with a total length of 900 metres, as well as dredging the main canal at a +26 level in the Al-Eidiya area with a total length of 550 metres, including loading and transporting the dredged material off-site.
The work also involved dredging the sides of the Al-Sharashir River from reeds over a length of 250 metres, and dredging the course of the Al-Safraqiya River in the Al-Safraqiya area over a length of 150 metres, using specialised engineering equipment under the supervision of technical staff and inspectors at the directorate.
These works are part of the directorate’s plan to boost readiness before the rainy season by removing obstacles, vegetation and sediments from canals and rivers, increasing their capacity to drain rainwater and reducing the likelihood of blockages, ensuring better readiness of the water system during the rainy season.
