The Latakia Water Resources Directorate is enhancing the efficiency of irrigation networks in the Latakia countryside through ongoing maintenance and cleaning work.

Cleaning and maintenance work continues at several vital irrigation sites in the province's countryside, as part of a plan to improve the efficiency of water networks and address bottlenecks that impede water flow.

The work included the Jabal al-Nuba area – Wata al-Khan municipality, al-Qaqiyah, al-Damat (Mashqita Dam), Burj al-Qasab, and Ain al-Laban, where canals and culverts were cleaned and debris removed. This contributes to enhancing the efficiency of water distribution and ensuring its optimal delivery to agricultural lands.

These efforts are part of ongoing monitoring and improving the readiness of the irrigation system, which supports the stability of agricultural operations and promotes the sustainable management of water resources.
