The Hama Water Resources Directorate handed over to the International Solidarity Organization the work site for the remaining maintenance and dredging works on the G3 irrigation canal, as well as the site for repairing the Shariah gates, which had previously been vandalized.

The planned work on the G3 canal includes dredging and removing accumulated soil and sediments along its path to ensure it regains its full capacity for water transport. Meanwhile, the work on the Shariah gates involves repairing and restoring the damage caused by vandalism and returning them to their normal operational state.

These efforts, carried out by the International Solidarity Organization in coordination with the directorate, aim to ensure a smooth flow of water to the benefiting agricultural lands without obstacles and to prevent waste caused by malfunctioning gates or blocked canals, enhancing water distribution efficiency and reducing irrigation interruptions for farmers.

The Hama Water Resources Directorate affirms its commitment to continue collaborating with international partner organizations on the maintenance and rehabilitation of water infrastructure, contributing to the sustainability of water resources and strengthening food security for farmers across the province.
