The Directorate of Water Resources in Latakia has stopped the irrigation cycles at the Al-Safraqia and Beit Rayhan dams after the rainfall... and is reinforcing maintenance work.
Based on the meeting of the Sub-Committee on Irrigation in Jableh, and coinciding with the rainfall this morning, irrigation cycles were stopped by closing the main Sefarqia Dam sluice and finishing the fourth irrigation cycle in the Bengaro sector. The main Bet Reyhan Dam sluice was also closed, ending the fourth irrigation cycle within its networks.
At the same time, maintenance and rehabilitation work continued, with dredging and cleaning around the Abu Baara River siphon on the main canal at level +50. Additionally, the main canal was dredged at level +11 in the Al-Areeda area for a length of 200 meters, with the dredged material being removed.
These measures are part of the ongoing field monitoring by the Directorate of Water Resources in Latakia, ensuring proper water resource management and raising the readiness of water networks and facilities.
