The Directorate of Water Resources in Latakia continues to follow up on the irrigation situation in the Northern Plain project
The Water Resources Directorate in Latakia continues to implement the irrigation plan in the Northern Plains project, through daily monitoring of the pumping stations and networks. The irrigation work has seen ongoing pumping and water distribution to serve the areas of Marouj Damsarkhou, Al-Qanjra, Baksa, Jabro, Ras Shamra, Burj Al-Qasab, Karsana, Al-Shamiya, Al-Jawziya, Kharbat Al-Jawziya, Nahr Al-Arab, Burj Islam, Al-Shabtaliya, and Al-Mughrit. Some irrigation cycles have finished, and new cycles have started in other networks, along with monitoring technical faults and carrying out necessary maintenance to ensure the stability of the irrigation system and continuous service.
In this context, technical workshops carried out several repairs on the PS3-8 station network in the Al-Qanjra area, including fixing two faults caused by circular cracks in 150 mm asbestos pipes using Silisel material, in addition to repairing a circular crack in a 200 mm asbestos pipe on the main network. A 200 mm asbestos pipe on the main network of the station was also replaced, which helped restore the network to service and improve the stability of irrigation water supply to the farmers.
