The Directorate of Water Resources in Damascus and its countryside continues to carry out maintenance and cleaning operations for irrigation canals, the Al-A’waj River, and its tributaries. These efforts are aimed at maintaining the efficiency of the irrigation network and enhancing its capacity to transport and distribute water to agricultural lands.
In this context, cleaning crews have been working on the Al-A’waj River channel in the town of Al-Taybah, located in the Al-Kiswah area. The objective is to remove sediment and obstructions that impede water flow, thereby ensuring the channel is fully prepared for the agricultural season.
These activities contribute to improving the efficiency of the irrigation network and reducing bottlenecks in the waterways. This facilitates the effective delivery of irrigation water to agricultural lands, helping farmers meet the needs of their crops and supporting the stability of agricultural production.
The General Authority for Water Resources extends its gratitude to the technical and operational staff for their field efforts and their vital role in maintaining water infrastructure and ensuring the readiness of irrigation canals, ultimately serving the agricultural sector and the farming community.
