The Aleppo Water Resources Directorate has completed the installation of earthen dams and begun drawing water from the main canal in the Maskana West project.
The Aleppo Water Resources Directorate has completed the installation of earthen dams on the main canal supplying the Maskana West irrigation project. This was necessary to carry out emergency maintenance on the canal, which had experienced seepage and leakage from the canal bed and expansion joints. The work was undertaken to preserve the integrity of the canal structure and ensure its readiness to transport water to the irrigation system for the agricultural season across all projects.
Following the completion of the work, technical teams began pumping water through the main canal to facilitate immediate maintenance and address the seepage. This will ensure the delivery of water to the agricultural lands, contributing to agricultural production and optimizing the use of water resources.
These efforts are part of the Directorate's ongoing monitoring to guarantee the sustainability and efficiency of irrigation projects, thereby meeting the needs of the agricultural sector in the governorate.
