The Water Resources Directorate in Deir ez-Zor is carrying out dredging works on several canals in the seventh sector of Abu Kamal countryside using heavy machinery, removing weeds, mud, silt and stagnant water to improve water flow and enhance agricultural drainage efficiency.

These works help prevent high water levels in farmland, reduce the risk of flooding and soil salinity, keeping the land and crops safe and productive, and support local farmers.

These activities are part of the directorate's plan to maintain canals and keep them ready, which boosts drainage efficiency and preserves agricultural resources.

The General Water Resources Authority extends its thanks to the technical staff and workers at the Deir ez-Zor Water Resources Directorate, especially the heavy machinery teams, for their field efforts in carrying out dredging work and serving the agricultural sector.
