Replacing Flomats on the Rei lines in Zahid and Dkeika to improve irrigation efficiency in the Akkar plain

The teams from the Directorate of Water Resources in Tartous carried out work replacing several discharge gauges ('flomats') on the irrigation lines that supply the villages of Zahed and Dakika in the Akkar plain. This came after the flomats had worn out, which affected the efficiency of the two lines.

The work included replacing the worn-out flomats and putting the lines back into service, which helps improve the readiness of the irrigation network and ensures a smooth flow of irrigation water to the agricultural lands, in addition to reducing water waste and improving water use in the sector.

The two lines serve about 50 hectares of farmland in the two villages. This work is part of the Directorate's ongoing plan to maintain and improve the efficiency of irrigation networks, ensuring a continuous water supply to farmers according to the approved irrigation plan, and supporting the stability of agricultural activity in the area.
