Through field efforts, the Latakia Water Resources Directorate restored the Shamarliya River in the village of Beit Ayoush to its natural course for a distance of approximately 50 meters. This was achieved by removing sediment and clearing the box culvert damaged by heavy rainfall.
The work also included clearing the bank opposite the culvert for a distance of 50 meters, in addition to scraping a 100-meter stretch of the secondary road adjacent to the river. These efforts aim to improve services, ensure smooth drainage, and are part of a rapid response to address the effects of the rainfall and rehabilitate damaged areas.
