Rehabilitating the irrigation networks in the fourth farm in Maskana East to support the agricultural sector
The Water Resources Directorate in Aleppo has started preparing and repairing the breaks in the Fourth Farm in the Maskaneh East area, as a step towards rehabilitating the main and secondary irrigation networks. This is part of a plan aimed at improving the efficiency of water infrastructure and enhancing its readiness to serve agricultural lands.
The work includes fixing main canal breaks, repairing sinkholes in the secondary canals, and restoring them to the required levels, using heavy and specialized equipment, including cranes, crawler excavators, and wheel excavators, enabling the work to be carried out according to the necessary technical requirements.
The rehabilitation work helps improve the flow of irrigation water and reduce losses during its transfer and distribution, allowing water to reach agricultural lands more efficiently. This supports the regularity of farming activities, land investment, and productivity, which positively affects farmers and stabilizes their livelihoods.
The General Authority for Water Resources extends its thanks to the technical staff and workers of the Water Resources Directorate in Aleppo for their efforts in carrying out the rehabilitation work, strengthening the readiness of the irrigation networks, and supporting the sustainability of agricultural activity in the area.
