The staff of the Raqqa Water Resources Directorate continue to carry out fieldwork to boost the readiness of the irrigation system. Excavation and backfilling were carried out on two sections of the MC12 canal, each about 50 metres long, with a volume of 225 m³.
The gate workshop also carried out dismantling, installation and maintenance of several gates at Nierbek and Qulab in the MN22 Safyan and MDL canals and MI22 intake, including cutting, welding, repairs and replacing damaged gates.In terms of canal maintenance, the LSM2 canal in Al-Sukurah was dredged over a length of 600 metres.
The Pumps Department continues to operate and maintain pumping stations, repairing electrical and mechanical faults, maintaining breakers and medium-voltage cells, replacing some cables, transformers and spare parts, and returning several stations to service, ensuring the irrigation programme continues and supporting the agricultural sector.
The directorate emphasises its ongoing efforts to monitor maintenance and rehabilitation work and maintain the readiness of irrigation facilities.
