The staff of the Water Resources Directorate in Raqqa are continuing maintenance, rehabilitation, and deepening of irrigation and drainage networks, alongside technical maintenance of the stations, aiming to ensure continuous water flow and boost the readiness of the irrigation system.
Maintenance Department:
Sector 1: Cleaning the MM4 canal in Al-Ansar for a length of 700 m.
Sector 3: Cleaning a secondary drain in Al-Abara for a length of 200 m.
Sector 4: Maintenance and rehabilitation work on the lower Salhabiya K11 canal, including trimming and scraping the section, opening the ditches, and preparing to pour 30 m³ of concrete, in addition to maintaining the locks in canals 33MD and 33MH.
Sector 5: Treating the shoulder of the Al-Jaber MC20 canal by replacing wet soil with dry soil and ensuring water flow continuity.
Sector 7: Cleaning main drains in the village of Al-Siyal/Al-Bukamal for a length of 400 m.
Stations Department: The work included dismantling, maintenance, and rehabilitation of several pumping units at the first Wadi stations, Al-Yamama, Al-Hamrat, Al-Karama, Badr 6, and Al-Bouhamad, in addition to the main Raqqa stations, Al-Sahl, Kasrat Sarour, and Al-Maghla. This work involved fixing electrical and mechanical faults, replacing bearings, breakers, and gaskets, lubrication, maintenance of cooling systems and cranes, and returning several units to service, which enhances the readiness of the stations and ensures continuous operation.
The Raqqa Water Resources Directorate confirms that its teams continue to carry out maintenance, rehabilitation, and strengthening of irrigation and drainage networks, alongside improving the readiness of pumping stations and fixing faults, ensuring the sustainability of the water system and meeting the needs of agricultural lands.
