The Water Resources Directorate in Tartus carried out maintenance work on the Hebron line within the Tal Housh irrigation networks, which helps irrigate about 130 hectares of farmland in the Akkar plain and ensures that irrigation water reaches the benefiting agricultural lands during the watering season.
The work included replacing a section of a 600 mm asbestos line as well as replacing valves and gaskets, which reduces water wastage, improves the network's efficiency, and enhances service reliability for farmers.
This work is part of the regular maintenance plan carried out by the Water Resources Directorate for irrigation networks and facilities, aimed at maintaining their readiness, promoting water resource sustainability, and supporting the agricultural sector in the governorate.
