Latakia's water resources are renewing the irrigation networks in Al-Bahloulia to serve 1,200 hectares, improving irrigation efficiency and serving 1,200 hectares of farmland.
The staff of the Directorate of Water Resources in Latakia continue the work of replacing asbestos irrigation pipes with polyethylene ones within the irrigation networks of the Tarjano Dam, aiming to improve the efficiency of water transportation and reduce breakdowns and leaks, contributing to enhancing the reliability of the network and improving water access to agricultural lands.
These networks serve an agricultural area estimated at about 1,200 hectares in the Bahloulia region and its villages, including Al-Salib, Al-Qarama, and others. The technical teams have currently completed the first phase of the replacement work, covering a length of 60 meters, with the remaining work set to be completed in the next two days.
These efforts are part of the Directorate's ongoing plan to modernize irrigation networks and replace asbestos pipes, following technical priorities based on the condition of the networks and recurring fault rates, helping to increase the efficiency of the irrigation system, improve the use of water resources, and support the stability of agricultural activities in the benefiting areas.
