In response to the farmers' demands, emergency irrigation water was secured for the lands of Qarkas village
The Water Resources Directorate in Quneitra responded to the demands of farmers in the village of Qarqas, due to the shortage and decline of irrigation water, by channeling water toward the village through the Al-Alan Valley stream, to provide an emergency irrigation source for the agricultural areas and reduce the damage to several summer crops, especially vegetables.
The Director of Water Resources in Quneitra, geologist Rabee Nasser Al-Afash, personally oversaw the arrival of water to the village, checked on the state of the farmlands, met with a number of farmers, and listened to their needs, especially regarding securing irrigation water and ensuring its continuous flow to the agricultural lands.
Al-Afash explained that drawing water was a direct response to the farmers' calls and aimed at providing emergency irrigation to the affected areas, helping to limit losses of seasonal crops and maintain existing agricultural production.
He pointed out that the directorate is monitoring the irrigation situation and available water sources, and is working to use them in a planned way when needed, helping to ensure water for agricultural areas and reduce the effects of water scarcity.
The Water Resources Directorate continues to monitor water sources allocated for irrigation and respond to farmers' needs, supporting the continuity of the agricultural season and protecting summer crops and agricultural production.
