In preparation for the rainfall, the Directorate of Water Resources in Hama is reinforcing the course of the Al-Fawar spring over a stretch of 3 km.
The Water Resources Directorate in Hama has started clearing the channel of the Al-Fawar spring, one of the important waterways feeding the Orontes River, along a 3-kilometer stretch of its course.
The importance of this work comes as part of preparations for the heavy rainfall expected, aiming to prevent flooding that could affect nearby farmland and residential areas along the river.
The Al-Fawar spring irrigates about 1,500 dunams of farmland, making it essential to ensure its flow runs smoothly without obstacles to protect crops and farmers from any potential damage during the rainy season.
These works are part of the ongoing plan implemented by the Directorate to rehabilitate the waterways feeding the Orontes River, enhancing their readiness for the rainy seasons and safeguarding the stability of agricultural production in the surrounding areas.
