In coordination with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the Directorate of Water Resources in Latakia continues to update the irrigation networks in the Ain Al-Bayda Plateau.
As part of efforts to develop and improve the efficiency of irrigation infrastructure, the Directorate of Water Resources in Latakia, in coordination with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), continues replacing asbestos pipes with polyethylene pipes in the Ain al-Bayda plateau.
These efforts are part of a plan to upgrade irrigation networks, improve water transport efficiency, and reduce losses. Polyethylene pipes are flexible, corrosion-resistant, and easy to install and maintain, which helps enhance the durability and reliability of the network. These works contribute to modernizing the irrigation networks and increasing the efficiency of water resource use on the Ain al-Bayda plateau, supporting agricultural sustainability and improving services for farmers, within the framework of collaboration between the Directorate and the FAO.
