Implementing the irrigation programme within the Mashqita Dam system to ensure a continuous water supply to the farmland

The Directorate of Water Resources in Latakia continues to implement and monitor the irrigation programme within the Mashqita Dam system. In this context, the directorate carried out irrigation work through the main canal (MC1) and the Bassa Canal, delivering water to several agricultural areas in the Latakia countryside, including Ras al-Ahmar, al-Damat, Jebrayoun, al-Qabarsiyeh, Rouaysa al-Harsh, Sukhayris, al-Khallala and al-Shir, helping to support agricultural activity and improve irrigation efficiency.

The directorate also continued operating the pumping stations within the Mashqita Dam system; PS7 station supplied water to the Jandariya and Omroniya areas, while PS-12 station continued providing water to Badmiyoun and Khreibah areas, all as part of an integrated operation system monitored continuously to ensure performance efficiency and uninterrupted water flow.

The Latakia Water Resources Directorate confirms the ongoing implementation of the irrigation programme daily and systematically according to the Irrigation Committee's decisions, ensuring the optimal use of available water resources and supporting the stability of the agricultural sector in areas benefiting from the Mashqita Dam.
