Homs Resources, in cooperation with the FAO, is completing the rehabilitation work of irrigation projects
As part of the cooperation and coordination between the General Authority for Water Resources and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the directorate is following up on completing the rehabilitation works of the Shabronia and Hassaneh irrigation canals in the Talkalakh area.
The works include rehabilitating locations where farm roads intersect with the canals, building concrete walls at some points where the watercourses meet, organizing the main intake by constructing a rectangular concrete section to ensure water flow in the canal, as well as implementing side field intakes to control flows and lining the main and branch canals.
These works help improve the technical efficiency of the canals, ensure water delivery to the farmers' lands, make it easier for them to reach their fields to transport their agricultural products, and support the agricultural sector and the sustainability of water resources.
